About Us

A small group of makers keeping old-world crafts alive, one heirloom at a time.

Primitive Handmades Mercantile started as a handful of artists who shared a love for the kind of craftsmanship our grandparents grew up with — folk art, hand-hooked rugs, stitcheries, fraktur painting, and homemade soaps made the slow way, by hand.

Each artist in our group runs their own little shop within the Mercantile, so every piece you find carries the mark of the person who made it. We come together once a month to share new work, and we're grateful for a community that values pieces made to last a lifetime.

Thank you for supporting handmade — it means the world to us.
